FDA Compliance, Rebranding and Product Description Changes

The following article FDA Compliance, Rebranding and Product Description Changes was first published to: Annmarie Organic Skin Care Blog

rebranding

Lots of things are going on over here at Annmarie Skin Care. If you’ve made a purchase recently, you’ll notice that we’ve unveiled a new look. We’ve been working on re-branding for more than 2 years — which seems crazy — but we’ve been waiting for just the right thing. After about 5 completely different iterations, we’ve finally found the one we love and hope you like it too.

We were sad to see some of the bright colors go, but happy to see a newer refined logo. Rest assured, you can still see hints of the color in the product label and title, and the products are just as carefully crafted as they always have been. In fact, some are even better, including our new version of the Rosemary Toning Mist.

Another thing that you’ll notice is a change in the descriptions (and some names) of our products. We’ve done this because we’re committed to compliance with FDA requirements for cosmetic labeling.

Cosmetics, while their ingredients are loosely regulated, can only claim to do very specific and limited things. So we’ve adjusted much of our language to reflect what we can legally say about our products and what they do.

You’ll see some language that looks like the things and phrases that big companies say. The reason why is because that’s really the only legal way to say what our products do. We’re very aware that some of this language sounds vague, but that’s how it has to be. We encourage you to be an informed, empowered consumer and do your research when you purchase products so you know what they can do for you and for your skin.

Over the next few months, we’ll be working on more detailed product descriptions that highlight some of they key ingredients and what they do. You’ll start to see these live in early 2017.

We’ve also adjusted the names of our Herbal Facial Oil for Oily Skin as well as our Repair Serum — which is now called Citrus Stem Cell Serum. These products are both exactly the same, they just have more compliant names. We actually think Citrus Stem Cell Serum is an improvement — since it brings the star ingredient in this potent formula to the forefront.

As for what’s on the horizon, we’ve upgraded our Sun Love and expect that to be back in stock during the holiday season. We’re also excited to launch a few more products into our makeup and newest signature line to accompany the Wild Fruit Serum — which so many of you are raving about.

Thank you for your support and commitment as we continue to evolve and grow.
