5 Health Destinations to Add to Your Bucket List According to Kevin Gianni

Health Destinations

A lot of you have been fans of Ann and Kev since the days of the Kale Whale so this won’t come as a shock to you, but they are the best people to get health retreat ideas from. We bugged Kevin to share their top five with us and here’s what he said.

I’m personally setting aside some well-earned vacation days for at least one trip already, maybe I’ll see you there!

Ojo Caliente — New Mexico

How do you feel about bathing in mineral waters from a thousand year old subterranean volcanic aquifer? At Ojo Caliente you can reserve a personal outdoor hot springs pool for you and your love (or your favorite group of close friends) or you can laugh in the mud pool while toxins are leached from your body in the sunshine. While you’re at it, get a healing massage and add on some healthy skincare therapy.

Breitenbush Springs — Oregon

Come for a day, stay for a weekend workshop, or turn it into your own personal retreat! Breitenbush has every option you can hope for when you’re looking for some personal healing time. You can stay in a tent, a dorm, or spring for a cabin with indoor plumbing and then spend your days hiking, taking classes or soaking in the springs and come in three times a day for a fresh, totally vegetarian meal. What a dream.

True North Health Center — Santa Rosa, CA

True North Health Center is the kind of retreat that is fully health-focused. With their own apartment complex, True North invites their guests to move right in and stay for as long as it takes to get back to their optimal health. The programs include meals, help with fasting, fitness and cooking classes, and customizable support from trained professionals and physicians.

Tabacon Hot Springs — Arenal, Costa Rica

Tabacon was built by a nature loving architect. Jaime Mikowski fell in love with the beauty of the volcanic Arenal wildlife and has spent thirty years creating the native flora botanical gardens and wild landscape so his guests could feel fully immersed in the beautiful Costa Rican wild while they’re bathing in the healing hot springs.

Casa De Luz — Austin, TX

With a focus on macrobiotics, smart living, and personal growth, Casa De Luz is a gathering place for all shapes, sizes, and ideas. The Ayurvedic proverb, “When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need” is at the center of their vision and they strive to go above and beyond with their completely vegan meal plans and the healthy community that they’ve spent years building around it.
