Our Cup of Tea; DIY Beauty Edition

Our Cup of Tea is Annmarie Skin Care’s monthly series featuring the team members’ favorite things! From recipes to workouts to nights on the town, we’ll share the things we love with you. You’ll get to know our team a little better and who knows, you might just find a new favorite thing.

This month we’re getting geared up for the sunshine and May flowers. We know that when the first beach days come around we want to look good and feel great so we’re getting ready with eating well, working out, and practicing self-love. We thought it would be fun to share our favorite DIY beauty routines. These are our tried and true methods for feeling nourished and beautiful.

Kevin

We weren’t sure whether he was kidding when he responded to our team email with this DIY beauty treatment but Kev is pretty efficient. We could totally see him getting Hudson and Basil ready for their days with this mask on:

Mix together the kids’ leftover oatmeal, yogurt, and honey
Apply to face until you remember it’s on there (or up to 30 minutes).
Rinse it off and pat dry.

Abby

Abby is our resident esthetician and we thought for sure she would have some elaborate DIY to share. Nope, her favorite at-home creation is probably the simplest of the bunch—it just goes to show that sometimes the simplest things can actually be the best.

Beat an egg and apply to face for 15 minutes.
Rinse off and pat to dry.

Rachel P

Mix a tablespoon of organic yogurt, a teaspoon of red sandalwood powder and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix together and apply to your face as a mask.
Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
Then rinse and pat to dry.

Nataly

Nataly couldn’t choose just one way that she shows herself the love so she gave us her full treatment!

Body:
Scrub fresh ground coffee into wet skin (specifically areas like thighs and buttocks)
Let sit for 10 minutes (or as long as you can stand without freezing)
Rinse and dry
Apply Coconut Body Oil or Radiant Skin Silk

HELLO GORGEOUS GLOW (goodbye dull, dry skin)

Hair:
Coat dry hair with avocado oil and rosemary essential oil
Leave this in for an hour or so
Take a bubble bath with lavender and rosemary essential oils while my hair is getting yummy nourishment!

Michon

Add in a bit of cinnamon & turmeric to the Purifying Mud Mask.
Let sit for 10-20 & watch that oil absorb (so gratifying)
Rinse and pat to dry.

Yes! Using our products for an at-home DIY is a great way to get to know our products better, especially something with simple ingredients like the Purifying Mud Mask. The Cinnamon makes this a stimulating mask and the turmeric helps to reduce oiliness over time.

Jasmine

Run a bath, put 1-2 cups of epsom salts in the running water, and right before you get in, put 6 drops of lavender essential oil and 5 drops of eucalyptus. Sit/recline for at least 15 minutes with a towel bunched up behind your head. Relax and open your sinuses… and enjoy!

Aubrey

A hair oil treatment that leaves you without the greasy mess.
I like neem oil with a few drops of rosemary and eucalyptus essential oil for my hair, which is blonde, straight, and a bit unruly, but you should totally use your favorite.

Coat your whole head and all of your hair in your favorite oils
Wrap your hair in a towel or a shower cap and let it sit for a couple hours (I like to leave it ALL DAY while I hike, garden, or watch movies)
This is the most important part Most people go straight to washing, don’t because you’ll have Snape level greasy hair for days. Coat your whole head in your Dr. Bronners (or other) dish soap.
LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES
Rinse
Let your hair air dry
